Dry Eucalypt
Crowns of trees, dominated by eucalypts and related species, just meet and allow light to filter to the understorey of grassy groundcovers. The shrub layer maybe sparse, or contain dense heathy plants. Many plants have tough hard (schlerophyll) leaves.
There are different types of eucalypt communities depending on soil type, depth, drainage and availability of nutrients.
Fire is a natural part of the life cycle of these plant communities.
