TAKE CARE! Some information about bush foods and medicines may be anecdotal. Correct identification and preparation is essential:
Timber: pink in colour, strong, moderately heavy and very durable. Gum veins not as prevalent as in C. gummifera. Main uses: General construction timber for all situations, fencing, poles, railway sleepers, house stumps. Good fuelwood.
Honey Production: light amber to medium amber, honey source minor, pollen source medium.
Bush food: Nectar sucked from flowers. Water extracted from roots.
Bush medicine: Diarrhoea and dysentery - kino (gum) solution drunk. Pad of chewed leaves often placed on wound to heal ; leaves and oil prescribed for everything..

Trunk flaky grey brown to ends of small branches |Occurs in wallum teatree forests, hills and ranges, on all soil types - but mainly on gently sloping topography at low altitude near coast |leaves strongly discolorous |buds often in terminal panicles of 7 flowered umbels||

Koala habitat tree. Bird and butterfly attracting. Flowers attract honey-eating birds.
