Identification Notes

Perennial grass with reddish stolons that root strongly from the nodes and form a dense groundcover. The leaf blades are usually 12-15 cm x 5-8 mm, flat,hairless and tapering to a point. The inflorescence is a panicle of 2-3 (rarely 4) racemes. The spikelets are solitary, green often tinged with purple, and form two rows along the rachis. **native of Africa and introduced for pasture. Naturalised in N. Qld.**
