Wallum Woodland
Infertile soils of low nutrient support widely spaced trees with an understorey of grasses, sedges and a diversity of herbs and heathy shrubs.
Paperbarks, Scribbly Gums, and Sheoaks are typical of these areas.
The “clear everything, add feriliser and grow exotics” type of development (allowed and encouraged in the past) has robbed us of much of this vegetation.
